What to Expect: Money, saving, counting, charity, helping others.
What are piggy banks for? Piggy banks are for when you help out in the kitchen or at the local animal shelter. They’re for when you have your own lemonade or snow-cone stand, or when you really need a new piano. They’re for when you have a penny, or a nickel, or a dime, or a quarter—or more! Piggy banks are for saving, for spending, and for giving to others. Pretty Purple Piggy Bank teaches readers about the different coin denominations in a dollar and the many ways we earn, save, spend, and donate our money.
Lots of children keep a piggy bank, but it can be difficult for children to grasp the value of money when so many essentials and desirables are handled by adults. In Pretty Purple Piggy Bank, readers see children earning money in many ways and learn that when you save individual pennies, they soon add up to much more. Using catchy rhymes and adorable cartoon illustrations, this book presents the idea of earning and saving (and some spending too) with humor, emphasizing that saving and sharing money with others is both fun and rewarding.
Pretty Purple Piggy Bank is a fun way to introduce children to money and spending.
