I am an unabashed fan of Leigh Bardugo. I find it brilliant how the Crooked Kingdom duology (Amazon | Book Depository) has been seamlessly interwoven with the Shadow and Bone trilogy (Amazon | Book Depository) in the Netflix Series adaptation. They have indeed created a new narrative altogether. And, yes to meeting fear and greeting it as an unexpected visitor.
