It is that time of the week again where we share a book quote that seemed particularly striking for us.

For the month of March, our book quote theme is: BLOOM.

I read Ocean Vuong’s On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous (Amazon | Book Depository) back in 2020. I think it remains one of the most lyrical, heartbreaking memoirs I have ever read – written by a queer Asian immigrant who was wrestling with his sexuality and his fraught relationship with a mother who is not all there – halfway between the home she left behind and the home she is making for herself and her son. I recall not being able to form a coherent narrative to review it after I read it. Maybe at one point, I will come back to it. One thing is clear, though: I will read anything that Ocean Vuong writes.
