[Book Quote Tuesday] On Neutrality and Victory

It is that time of the week again where we share a book quote that seemed particularly striking for us.

For the month of JUNE, our book quote theme is: DEFIANCE.

In the wake of the recently-concluded Philippine election, my mood for the entire month is reflected in our book quote theme.

As I grow older, I have come to realize how neutrality puts one firmly on the side of the oppressor as Desmond Tutu noted. Howard Zinn’s quote above from You Can’t Be Neutral On A Moving Train (Amazon | Book Depository) is a testament of hope amidst encroaching darkness – and that victory is standing up to “all that is bad around us.”
