In the early 1970s, the PBS children’s television show The Electric Company commissioned a series of educational songs from musician, singer-songwriter, satirist, and mathematician Tom Lehrer. He wrote 11 in total and O-U (The Hound Song) is one of them. In it, a hound-in-hiding sings about his plight while using rhyming O-U words like around, ground, and sound.
